Innovative methods for monitoring West Nile Disease spread in Italy

West Nile Disease is one of the most wide spread zoonoses caused by a vector-borne virus, circulating in birds through mosquitoes. This project intends to use the capability of Earth Observation (EO) data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods to automatically identify patterns able to make accurate predictions of the spatio-temporal re-emergence and spread of the disease in Italy.

Project goal

AIDEO is being developed within the scope of the ESA EO Science for Society Permanently Open Call for Proposals EOEP-5 BLOCK 4 (ESA AO/1-9101/17/I-NB). Watch the video to know what it is about and the results it has achieved in a one year frame.
